A Big Welcome To Our Newest Employees!

Please help us welcome the newest members of our Utility team. New Richmond Utilities hired Mike Petersen, in the electric department, in October of 2005 and Steve Skinner, at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, in December of 2005.

Mike Petersen is a journey lineman and was hired after his apprenticeship with the MJTS Merchant program.

The Merchant program is used by Rural Electrics, Private Utilities, Municipal Utilities and Contractors in 39 states representing over 800 companies. Dennis Merchant has written a four year comprehensive power line training program. The program is designed to be self-study and is delivered through correspondence.

Mike grew up in Star Prairie and is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing. Mike also likes to travel and attend sporting events.

He and his wife, Melanie, currently reside in Hammond and are looking to relocate to the New Richmond area.


Steve Skinner is the new wastewater treatment operator and is currently taking classes to become a certified operator.

Steve has lived and worked in the New Richmond area since 1984. He was previously a mechanic at Bernardís Northtown and is also working at Sunshine Courts as their maintenance person. Steve is the oldest of six children and enjoys restoring antique tractors with his father. Steve also likes camping and horse back riding with his family and friends. He also does some volunteer work for his church, Faith Community.

He and his wife Sarah, live outside New Richmond with their two daughters, Rachel and Allison.
