Utility Offers Scholarship Programs
New Richmond Utilities is offering a scholarship for a local high school student. The $1,000 Public Power Scholarship will be presented to a high school senior who plans to attend a two-year technical college or a four-year university.
To be eligible to apply, students or their parents or guardians must be customers of New Richmond Utilities. Preference will be given to students seeking a career as an electric line worker and are enrolling in an Electrical Power Distribution Program at a qualified community college or school. Dependents of utility personnel are not eligible.
New Richmond Utilitiesí scholarship program is designed to provide educational opportunities for promising local students and to promote awareness of New Richmondís community-owned utility.
The scholarship is part of the Local Scholarship Application for the School District of New Richmond. Applications are due Friday, February 3, 2012. For application materials and program guidelines, contact the High School Guidance Counselor.
